Frank Cornelius, a retired veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, has transformed a personal collection of Marine Corps memorabilia into a museum in De Pere, Wisconsin, with his wife, Nancy.
The collection began as a display in the family basement, but it eventually outgrew the space. After being moved to another building, it expanded considerably through donations from private individuals.
Many of the exhibits come from Frank’s own 22-year career in the Marines. During guided tours, available by appointment during the summer months, he shares the history behind the collection and recounts stories from the past.
The Marine Corps Museum is presented as a labor of love and a tribute to military service. It was published on October 30, 2026.
